Our integration with Blackmagic Design’s DaVinci Resolve Studio gives you quick access to your MediaSilo workspace. The MediaSilo panel lets you browse, search for, and import files from MediaSilo into DaVinci Resolve Studio; export files from DaVinci Resolve Studio into MediaSilo; send Review Links; and import comments made in those Review Links. This article will show you how to set up the panel and get started.
Note that the MediaSilo panel is only available for DaVinci Resolve Studio, not the free version of DaVinci Resolve. The panel is available for both Mac and Windows.

Search for and import files from MediaSilo
Once the panel is up and running, you can start importing files from MediaSilo into DaVinci Resolve Studio. Hovering over a file will display four buttons: Preview, Download, Upload new version, and Open in MediaSilo.
To import files, go to the Projects section, hover over the file you want to import, and click the download button. By default you’ll import the source file, but you can choose to import the proxy instead. Click Import.
This will bring the file into DaVinci Resolve Studio and download it to your computer at the same time.
You can use the search bar along the top of the panel to look for a specific file. Hover over a file and click the preview button to make sure you’re importing the right one.
Send MediaSilo Review Links from DaVinci Resolve Studio timeline
To send a file as a MediaSilo Review Link, click the Export Timeline button in the bottom right corner of the panel. Add recipients' emails under “Recipients.” Under “Access Type,” select your preferred link-access setting: Public, Public with Password, or Private (only named recipients). For password-protected links, note that the password cannot contain the following characters: < > =
You can view the comments made on a link by clicking the envelope icon in the bottom left corner of the panel. This takes you to the “Shared Timelines” section. Click the place-pin button to load new comments directly into your timeline. If you import a comment that was made on a timecode range in MediaSilo, then the comment will correspond to the start timecode on your DaVinci Resolve Studio timeline.
The red bubble indicates the number of new comments. The arrow button opens the Review Link in MediaSilo.
Upload to a MediaSilo project from DaVinci Resolve Studio timeline
Once you’re ready to export a file from DaVinci Resolve Studio, click the Export Timeline button in the bottom right corner of the panel. Then, choose the MediaSilo project where you want to upload the file. To upload a file without sharing it as a Review Link, just leave the Recipients field blank.
If you want to export your timeline as a new version of an existing file, you can do so from the Projects section of the panel. Just hover over a file, and click the third button from the left, the Upload new version button. This allows you to upload your timeline as a new version of a file that already exists in MediaSilo.
