Find Your Latest Files
To see the most recently uploaded or updated files, open the Recent Items page by clicking the clock icon in the left-side navigation bar.
Click the filter button in the top-right corner to sort by date created, date updated, file type, size, or title.
Narrow Your Search
Click the search bar along the top of the page to reveal a list of search criteria. You can select multiple values to help narrow your search.
You can search by project (In); the Type of asset; the specific date the asset was Created or Modified; the user who uploaded the asset (By); the filename, title, or description (Name); the asset Filesize; the asset's width or height (Dimensions); the Duration of the asset; and any existing Tags or Metadata associated with the asset.
When you search by Name, you can choose to see partial or exact matches; along the bottom of the search menu, choose "Starts With," "Contains," or "Exact match" from the dropdown menu.
When you search by Tag, you can search for assets matching one tag or multiple tags. To search by one tag, you can click the "Only" button that appears when you hover over the tag. Or select multiple checkboxes, followed by the Search button, to search for assets matching more than one tag.
At the bottom of the search menu, you can select "Matches all" or "Matches any." "Matches all" only shows you assets matching every tag you selected, while "Matches any" returns any asset that matches at least one of the tags you selected. In addition, you can search for assets that have not been tagged with a particular tag by selecting "is not tagged."
Save Your Search
You can save any of your searches for easy access from the search bar.
First, enter any of the values you commonly use to search for assets, and then click the Save option at the end of the search bar.
You will then give this search a name, so you can access it again whenever you want.
After you name your search, click Save. All of your saved searches are available whenever you click the search bar. Saved searches are located at the bottom of the search menu. Simply click one of your searches to view your search results.
Search Your Metadata
MediaSilo automatically scans every file you upload for supported metadata types. That metadata is indexed and becomes searchable after upload. Searchable types of metadata include: XMP, GPS, IPTC, and EXIF. You can also search for any custom metadata you enter in MediaSilo.
First, enter a metadata keyword and value, and then click the Apply button.
To search by more than one metadata key, click the plus (+) icon next to the value field. Click the minus icon (-) to remove a search item.
Delete Your Search Results
If you are an administrator on your MediaSilo account, you can delete the files matching your search query. First, search for the assets you want to delete. Then, click the filter icon near the top-right corner of the page, and select "Delete Search Results" from the bottom of the menu.
Export a List of Search Results
Click the filter button in the top-right corner of the Search Results page to export a list of your results.
You can export your list as either a CSV or XLS file.
Note that the exported spreadsheet includes the assets currently displayed on the page. If your search returns 500 assets, but you are only displaying the first 25 assets, then the exported spreadsheet will only include the first 25 assets.
Filters Menu
The filters menu lets you sort assets by project, uploader, file type, and tags. The type and tag options have a number next to them, indicating how many assets match that type or tag.
You can open the filters menu from the Search Results or Recent Items pages by clicking the arrow button in the top left.
